I feed my worms unprocessed food scraps--whole banana peels, etc. I make one exception--broccoli stems. They're tough & need to be chopped up.

    Pamela, I am headed to the Home Depot this weekend to get supplies for building my first worm bin. I think I'm going to a stackable system out of rubermaid containers. Do you know of any place local to buy worms? I too live in Silver Spring.
